Where it all began...

Emma was put into dance class at age 3 along with her younger sister; their mother was trying desperately to get them out of the house. That plan worked a little too well, as Emma quickly fell in love with dance and couldn't get enough. Spisak Dance Academy in Phoenix, AZ became her second home, and she grew up taking all styles of dance and performing across the country. From performing the Nutcracker every year, to the annual summer recital, to competitions both regional and national, Emma adored every opportunity to be on stage.

Finding her path

Emma began finding her path when she was given opportunities to share her love for dance with others. She became a substitute dance teacher for her home studio, and she choreographed for the Verrado High School Performance Dance Company. Through Verrado, she also had the chance to choreograph three full-scale musicals: Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors, and Mamma Mia! It was through these experiences that Emma found her love for teaching and choreography.

Around this time, Emma also discovered her affinity for tap dance when she began training and performing with Tap 24.7, Suzy Hall's Phoenix-based tap dance company. Emma performed three full tap shows with this company and served as an understudy for a fourth, and she was able to travel with the company to Detroit in 2018 to perform at Motor City Tap Fest. She is also proud to have won the Arizona Young Artists - People's Choice Award for her performance of Orange Colored Sky choreographed by Patrick Burns.

Where she is now

Emma is currently pursuing her degree in  Dance Performance at Oklahoma City University. She has been a part of the Star Dance Company's Holiday Spectacular and MOVE! Dance for the World of Entertainment and has performed in In the Heights. She spent a year as an Apprentice for Tap Into the Network, where she assisted classes around the country and performed at their culminating show in Atlanta. Emma also works as a dance teacher at Dove Dance in Oklahoma City and manages the university's box office. She is so grateful for the education she is receiving and for the support of her family and teachers that has got her to where she is now!
